Etna

Etna

Called “Mongibello” or “mountain of the mountains” by locals, Etna, with its height of more than 3,000 meters, is the highest active volcano in Europe and was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in June 2013.

The peaks, sprinkled with numerous vents and craters, are covered with a white snow blanket for the entire winter season until late spring and offer almost all year round performances of lava flows.

Excursions by off-road or cable car with specialized guides, various hiking trails and trekking routes will allow you to explore the volcano at any time of the year.

It is a must to stop in one of the many wineries, where you can taste tart and spicy wines made from the vineyards on the slopes, as well as typical local products.
